About this tool
For a local business, the Google Business Profile is often more valuable than the website. It is what appears in Maps, in the panel beside search results, and on a phone when somebody nearby searches for what you sell with intent to buy in the next hour.
The description field allows 750 characters. Most businesses either leave it empty or fill it with adjectives. What belongs there is plain: what you do, where you do it, who you serve, and what makes choosing you an easy decision. Google reads it, but so does a person deciding between you and the shop two streets away.
This tool writes that description inside the character limit, plus a shorter version for other directories and a suggested category list.
Questions
Does the description affect my ranking?
Indirectly. Google weighs your category, reviews and proximity far more heavily. The description mostly does the convincing once someone is already looking at you.
Why 750 characters exactly?
That is the Google Business Profile limit. Writing to it rather than under it means using the whole shelf you were given.
Should I repeat my town name for SEO?
No. Once or twice is natural. Repeating it looks like spam to readers and adds nothing with Google.
