About this tool

Most cropping is not artistic. It is someone needing a square profile picture, a 4:5 image because Instagram crops the rest anyway, or a circular avatar that does not have an ugly white box behind it.

Pick the shape and this crops the largest area of that shape from your photo. Choose whether to keep the middle, the top or the bottom, because centre-cropping a portrait usually removes the head.

The circle option produces a PNG with a genuinely transparent background, so it sits properly on any colour rather than on a white square.
