About this tool

Almost nobody fails an interview through lack of ability. They fail because they had a good example in their head and told it badly: no context, no clear action, no result, and a rambling ending.

This tool takes one interview question and one experience of yours, and shapes it into a proper answer using the situation-task-action-result structure that interviewers are trained to listen for. You get a version you can say out loud in about ninety seconds, plus the follow-up questions that answer is likely to attract, so you are not caught out by the second question.

It works best when you give it something real and specific, even if it feels small. A story about calming one angry customer beats a general claim about being good with people, every time.

Questions

What is the STAR structure?

Situation, Task, Action, Result. It is the shape interviewers are trained to listen for, and it stops a good story turning into a ramble. This tool applies it without making the answer sound mechanical.

Should I memorise the answer word for word?

No. Learn the shape and the key facts, then say it in your own words. A recited answer sounds worse than a slightly rough one.

Can I use it for several questions?

Yes. One credit per question. Most people prepare five or six answers, which is well inside a single day pass.

My example feels too small to use.

Small and specific beats big and vague. One real incident you can describe in detail is exactly what interviewers want.
